Storing semaglutide and tirzepatide at home

Refrigeration rules, travel tips, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Refrigeration

Keep between 36°F and 46°F. Most compounded vials are stable for 28 days after first puncture; brand pens have specific stability windows on the label.

Travel

Insulated cooler with frozen gel packs. Most patients fly with it in carry-on. Check airline rules for needles and biohazard storage.

If it gets warm

Brief excursions to room temperature are usually OK. Prolonged warm exposure means contact your pharmacy for replacement.
